California EV Incentives & Savings
Access to high-occupancy vehicle lanes is a significant benefit for solo drivers of eligible electric vehicles. Major electric utilities offer discounted time-of-use rates, making home charging more affordable during off-peak hours.
California EV incentive programs
California currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
