Illinois EV Incentives & Savings
Battery electric vehicles are exempt from the state's required emissions inspections, simplifying annual vehicle ownership tasks. Major utility providers like ComEd and Ameren offer residential customers special rates and rebates for home charging equipment.
Illinois EV incentive programs
Illinois currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
