Kansas EV Incentives & Savings
A significant portion of the state's electricity comes from wind power, which can lower the overall carbon footprint of driving an electric vehicle. Owners of electric vehicles are subject to an additional annual registration fee to contribute to road maintenance funds.
Kansas EV incentive programs
Kansas currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
