Maine EV Incentives & Savings
Cold winters can impact battery performance, making preconditioning the vehicle while it is still plugged in a useful habit for drivers. The state's public charging network is expanding, with many stations located at popular destinations like state parks and coastal towns.
Maine EV incentive programs
Maine currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
Check back periodically — states frequently introduce new EV programs as adoption grows.
