Michigan EV Incentives & Savings
Major utility providers offer time-of-use electricity rates and charger rebates to help EV owners manage charging costs. Electric vehicles are exempt from the state's emissions inspection requirements, simplifying annual vehicle ownership tasks.
Michigan EV incentive programs
Michigan currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
