Minnesota EV Incentives & Savings
The state's cold winters can reduce battery range, making preconditioning the cabin while plugged in an important habit for drivers. Major utilities offer special electricity rates for home charging, and the public charging network is expanding along key travel routes.
Minnesota EV incentive programs
Minnesota currently has no state-level EV incentive programs for consumers. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) expired September 30, 2025 and is no longer available for new purchases. The federal 30C residential charging credit (30% up to $1,000) remains available through June 30, 2026.
